Trump plans to turn Florida golf course into presidential retreat

President Trump suggested during an Oval Office event that the U.S. Secret Service and U.S. military have proposed converting Trump International Golf Course in West Palm Beach into a presidential retreat. This so-called "Camp David-like" getaway could serve future presidents for important meetings and to utilize the amenities of a world-class property.

The golf course, where Trump plays golf at his Mar-a-Lago resort, does not have high buildings or houses near it, providing necessary security features and proximity to law enforcement. The property, informally suggested by the military and Secret Service, could potentially be used by foreign heads of state. However, the cost of the development and who would be responsible for it have not been disclosed.
