The best Amazon Prime Day SSD, RAM and GPU deals are more sad than exciting

Amazon Prime Day has revealed some disheartening trends in the realm of computer components, with RAM sticks, SSDs, and GPUs suffering due to a memory crisis. Even deals offered by Amazon appear to be significantly higher in price than they were last year. For instance, the Samsung 9100 PRO 2TB SSD is being sold at $335, twice the price of $165 last year.

Similarly, a 64GB RAM kit from Crucial on Amazon UK is priced at £690 after a 7% discount, quadrupling the original price of £170 from a year ago. A more common 32GB kit is now being offered at £400, after a 22% discount, compared to £108 last year. GPUs, too, are facing a significant price hike. The Asus Prime RX 9070 XT Gaming graphics card, previously discounted to $690 last year's Prime Day, is now priced at $829, a 30% increase from the sale price.

Despite the overall bleak picture, there are a few deals worth considering. The Optimus GX 7100 1TB NVMe SSD is now $169.15, a 15% discount from its original $199 price. This SSD offers sequential reads of up to 7,250MB/s and writes of 6,900MB/s. Additionally, the Vengeance LPX 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 RAM kit is available at $249.99, a 16% discount from its original $296.99 price.

Lastly, the Radeon RX 9070 GRE OC Edition 12GB GPU has a 33% discount, bringing its price to $529.99, which is close to its manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP).
