Houthis launch missiles at Yemen's Aden airport as fighting intensifies

Two missiles launched by Yemen's Houthi rebels targeted Aden's international airport on Wednesday, but no casualties were reported, according to the Aden security department's media office. This attack follows weeks of Houthi advances along Yemen's Red Sea coast and a Saudi-backed government counteroffensive that has retaken areas near the Bab al-Mandab Strait with coalition air support. The airport serves as the primary international gateway to parts of Yemen not under Houthi control.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Saudi-led coalition announced they had intercepted and destroyed a Houthi ballistic missile launched towards Khamis Mushait, a city in southern Saudi Arabia. The coalition stated that these missile threats originated from Sanaa, the capital controlled by the Houthis, as well as the Saada and Amran governorates.

In response to the coalition's statement, Al Masirah TV, an affiliate of the Houthis, reported that Saudi forces had carried out a strike in the central governorates of Ibb and Taiz. However, there was no immediate confirmation from the Saudi-led coalition regarding this claim.
