Babu Owino sends recovery message to Oburu Oginga

Babu Owino, the Member of Parliament for Embakasi East, has conveyed his best wishes for a swift recovery to Siaya Senator Oburu Oginga. The ODM leader remains hospitalized, as he continues to grapple with undisclosed health issues. In a social media post on Tuesday, October 7, 2026, Babu cited Isaiah 53:5, a verse from the Bible, expressing his hope for Oburu's speedy healing.

"But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed," the MP quoted.

The concern over Oburu's health arose after reports surfaced about his hospitalization at Nairobi Hospital. Following the news, Oburu refuted allegations of false and malicious rumors circulating on social media about his well-being. In a statement issued by the ODM Party Leader’s office, the Senator expressed his gratitude that the reports were untrue and appealed to the public to only trust official sources regarding his condition.

The statement emphasized that Oburu was fully healthy, content, and in high spirits, and that he was diligently adhering to his doctors' recommendations to rest and avoid strenuous physical activity.

Despite these self-imposed limitations, the ODM Party’s secretariat confirmed that Oburu remained mentally sharp, fully informed, and actively participating in critical party and national affairs. The senator was reportedly preparing his address for the upcoming handover ceremony of the Raila Odinga Mausoleum in Kang’o ka Jaramogi when the health rumors were disseminated.
