Youths recover abandoned locally made firearm in Delta community

Youths in the Idjerhe community of Delta State have recovered an abandoned firearm that was locally made. The President of the Idjerhe Youth Council, Desmond Emoefe Agbigbe, announced the recovery on his Facebook page. The discovery was part of ongoing efforts to address insecurity in the region. Agbigbe emphasized that the action was a testament to the Youth Council's dedication to fostering peace, security, and the protection of lives and property in Idjerhe Kingdom.

He urged the youth to refrain from violence, unlawful activities, and the possession of illicit firearms, urging those with illegal weapons to surrender them to the appropriate authorities. Agbigbe also extended a welcoming hand to members of confraternities who genuinely seek to renounce violence, abandon unlawful activities, and collaborate with the Youth Council to promote peace and development in the Kingdom.

He encouraged these individuals to visit the Youth President’s Secretariat for constructive engagement. The Youth President called for all stakeholders, community leaders, and youths to remain dedicated to the collective responsibility of restoring peace, unity, and the lost glory of the Idjerhe Kingdom. Achieving a safer and more prosperous kingdom, Agbigbe affirmed, requires the cooperation, vigilance, and support of everyone.
