Trump says US is ‘open’ to Iran talks; Pakistan, Turkey to send forces to Saudi under Mecca pact

President Donald Trump has expressed openness to talks with Iran, according to recent statements. He defended the Pentagon's decision to relocate US bombers away from a UK base following security threats. The US has identified the source of the threats and warned those responsible will face consequences. Nine Western Hemisphere states have united against Iran-backed terrorist activity and influence operations, pledging to take additional measures and deepen coordination among authorities.

The US has signed an Executive Order to temporarily lower diesel costs by allowing tax-free dyed diesel use on highways until the end of the year. The newly-formed Mecca Defence Alliance, involving Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Pakistan, could become a "NATO of the Middle East" against Iran-backed Houthi forces in Yemen, according to a US Representative.

The alliance has activated collective-defence commitments, with the three countries agreeing to deploy military forces rapidly to Saudi Arabia. US Central Command has redirected 130 commercial vessels since restarting a naval blockade of Iranian ports in mid-July, aiming to restrict maritime trade with Iran. President Trump stated that the US war with Iran is "essentially almost over," emphasizing that Tehran will not acquire a nuclear weapon, stating it as a decision made by the US.
