The Global University Presidents and Leaders Summit will be held at the Convention and Exhibition Centre in Hong Kong from October 27 to 28, according to organizers. This two-day event will primarily focus on the Northern Metropolis University Town (NMUT) and bring together leaders from over 50 universities from more than 20 countries and regions.
Notable attendees include presidents from Harvard and Cambridge, among others. Hong Kong universities will also participate, with their leaders hosting panel discussions. Priscilla Leung, the association's founding president and CEO, noted that many institutions are familiar with the Greater Bay Area but lack understanding of NMUT's potential.
Leung believes the summit offers a valuable platform for institutions to foster cooperation and exchange. Government officials will join the summit to provide a comprehensive introduction to Northern Metropolis's development. The biannual event, which first took place in 2024, will also feature sessions on youth development and Hong Kong's status as an international legal hub.
