Nigeria selects Dear Ajayi movie for 2027 Oscars

Nigeria has chosen the film Dear Ajayi as its official submission for the Best International Feature Film category at the 99th Academy Awards. The Nigerian Official Selection Committee announced the selection, and the film will now proceed through the Academy's consideration process. Dear Ajayi, directed by Damilola Orimogunje, is a period drama set in the 1990s in southwestern Nigeria, following the lives of two sisters and their strained relationship with their mother.

The film's selection does not guarantee an Oscar nomination, as it must first go through the Academy's evaluation process.
