Harga tiket ECRL dijangka diumum bulan ini, jualan dibuka November

Malaysia Rail Link Sdn Bhd (MRL) is anticipating an announcement of ticket prices for the commercial operation of Eastern Coast Rail Link (ECRL) this month, with ticket sales opening in November. ECRL Chief Executive Officer, Darwis Abdul Razak, revealed that the announcement is expected to be made by the Ministry of Transportation, targeting commercial ECRL operations to commence by mid-December 2026.

"We anticipate dynamic and affordable ticket prices, lower than airplane fares and slightly higher than bus fares," he stated during the ECRL Annual General Meeting for ECRL Pre-operative Personnel and the media here today. For ECRL Phase 1 (Kota Bharu-Gombak), Darwis shared that the number of round trips from Monday to Thursday is 12 and 14 times from Friday to Sunday.

Additionally, his team is pleased with the progress of ECRL Phase 1 (Kota Bharu-Gombak) which has reached 98.16% by last September, and confident that the operational target by mid-December can be achieved. He also emphasized the impressive Comprehensive Inspection Train (C.I.T.) ECRL recently completed, completing the journey without interruption from Gombak to Kota Bharu in 3 hours and 19 minutes, covering a distance of 519 kilometers at speeds up to 160 km/h.

This achievement confirms ECRL's capability to provide express service on the Gombak-Kota Bharu corridor within less than four hours. The 665-kilometer long ECRL railway network spans across the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia, connecting Kelantan, Terengganu, and Pahang before linking Selangor on the West Coast. ECRL is expected to reduce the travel time between Kota Bharu and Gombak to approximately four hours, compared to around seven hours via road transport.
