2027: Otti warns against violence during electioneering campaign

Abia State Governor Alex Otti has cautioned against violence during the 2027 electioneering campaign in the state. Inaugurating the Labour Party Campaign Council for the 2027 general elections in Umuahia, Otti emphasized that the state has developed a peaceful and open environment for political activities. He stressed that violence would not be tolerated, and security agencies have been directed to ensure a level playing field for all political campaigns.

Otti noted that independent candidacies are not permitted in Nigeria yet, hence all pro-groups of the Labour Party must collaborate for success. The governor urged the council members to work with their respective party leadership and stakeholders at the grassroots to achieve their objectives. Otti directed the council to collaborate with various groups within the party and emphasized that no individual or group could single-handedly succeed in the campaign.
