‘We get it, Gaitonde’: This Khakee scene justifies Drishyam 3 cop’s obsession with Ajay Devgn

Fans of the Drishyam franchise have been buzzing about Kamlesh Sawant's character Sub Inspector Gaitonde after his relentless obsession with seeing Ajay Devgn's character Vijay Salgaonkar behind bars for murder in the trailer of the upcoming Drishyam 3. This scene from their 2004 cop thriller Khakee, starring Devgn, justifies Gaitonde's obsession.

In Khakee, Sawant's character struggles to catch a moving train with other cops as Devgn's antagonist shoots them down, leading to their deaths. The X community rallied behind Gaitonde, praising his dedication to the role. Sawant, who has been playing police officers since Khakee, had an unexpected reunion with Devgn on the set of Drishyam in 2015, where Devgn recognized him and praised his performance. This bond between the two characters has left a lasting impression on fans of the franchise.
