Undersecretary of Ministry of Justice meets Arab League Secretary-General

His Excellency Saeed bin Abdullah Al Suwaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Justice and Chairman of the National Committee for International Humanitarian Law, engaged in discussions with Nabil Fahmy, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States. This meeting occurred during a workshop in Cairo focused on national implementation of international humanitarian law.

The two leaders reviewed the committee's work program and deliberated on enhancing its regional influence in promoting the principles and culture of international humanitarian law. They also explored methods to raise awareness of the law's provisions among Arab states, thereby assisting them in adhering to the law at the national level.

The Secretary-General expressed his support for Qatar's chairmanship of the Arab Permanent Committee for International Humanitarian Law, vowing to provide the necessary resources to fulfill its mandate, bolster the committee's role in advancing international humanitarian law, and increase awareness of its principles across Arab nations. This support is crucial to the committee's success and realization of its founding objectives.
