Obama to appear with El-Sayed in Detroit as he gets more involved in midterms

Former President Barack Obama will campaign with Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed in Detroit later this month, according to recent reports. The event, scheduled for October 24, will also feature other prominent Democratic candidates from Michigan, including Jocelyn Benson, who is running for governor. Obama's involvement in the midterm elections has increased significantly, with additional campaign stops and advertisements expected in the coming weeks.

The Detroit rally is seen as a strong show of support for El-Sayed, who defeated moderate Rep. Haley Stevens in a close primary. Obama has been actively involved in the midterms, taping ads for Democratic candidates and making campaign appearances in various states. His support for El-Sayed comes as the open seat is considered crucial for determining party control in the upcoming year.
