England boss Tuchel says Scott can challenge Rice for midfield spot
Bournemouth's Alex Scott dictated play in the 7-0 thrashing of Croatia despite facing veterans Luka Modric and Mateo Kovacic.
England's manager Thomas Tuchel has indicated that Declan Rice will face competition for his midfield position following an impressive display by Alex Scott in Saturday's 7-0 Nations League victory over Croatia. When asked if Rice might be concerned about his place in the team, Tuchel responded, "Of course, and he does, we need performances like this."
Tuchel emphasized that England cannot rely on just two central midfielders and highlighted the need for increased variety, stating that more options are essential for the team. England, currently second in their group behind World Cup winners Spain, will face the Czech Republic at Wembley on Tuesday.
