Pelajar maut di sekolah: Saifuddin gesa Fadhlina beri penerangan di Dewan Rakyat

Malaysian Parliament's Indera Mahkota member Saifuddin Abdullah has urged Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek to provide an explanation on the issue of school safety in the Dewan Rakyat, following the reported death of another student. The National Vision Party secretary expressed deep sorrow over the report of a female student's death at a school in Yong Peng, Johor yesterday, and prayed for the family.

He emphasized that the level of student safety in schools has become increasingly worrying and unacceptable. He strongly urges the education minister to provide a session of explanation in the Dewan Rakyat shortly after the question hour. The public has the right to receive timely answers, he said in a statement. Earlier, a 16-year-old female student was reported dead at a secondary school in Yong Peng last evening.

The 14-year-old student was found dead by her mother who arrived at the school after realizing her daughter did not return home around 5:30 pm after attending a remedial class. This is the second school death within a week. On September 25, a 12-year-old male student was found unconscious in the school dormitory in Kuala Pilah, Negeri Sembilan before being confirmed dead in the hospital.

Suspects have been detained from September 26 to October 1 in connection with the incident. Another suspect has been detained from September 28 to October 3.
