Meta is expanding its Muse AI agent with a new open-source initiative called Muse Gadgets, allowing developers to create their own Muse-powered hardware. The company also introduced the Muse Home Link, a USB-C-powered device that enables Muse to connect to smart home products through a home network. Developers can build their own Muse devices using Meta's open-source firmware and Linux SDK.
Possible form factors for Muse devices include E Ink displays, HDMI dongles for TVs, and small touchscreen accessories. Meta has established a Discord community for developers working on Muse Gadgets. The company will distribute 5,000 Muse Home Link units to Muse subscribers. The Muse hardware expansion remains unclear in terms of Meta's broader plans, but developer and hobbyist creations could influence the company's future hardware projects.
