Election campaign events: Just over a month before the midterms: Trump launches election campaign tour
The US President leaves no doubt: He wants to help his Republicans win the important congressional elections. Even if his poll numbers are at rock bottom, he is now traveling across the country to do so.
US President Donald Trump has launched a campaign offensive ahead of the midterm elections, acknowledging his poor approval ratings. Speaking at a truck manufacturer in Denton, Texas, he praised his own policy while also criticizing his administration's public relations efforts, saying they were not effectively selling their accomplishments.
Trump will be traveling across the country to campaign in the coming weeks, starting with a trip to Oklahoma on the same day as his Texas speech. The midterm elections on November 3 will determine control of Congress, with Trump's Republicans currently holding a narrow majority in both chambers, and his party's prospects uncertain, particularly in Texas, where Republican candidate Ken Paxton is running for Senate.
