T-shirts instead of winter coats: What a warm October reveals about winter

Costa del Sol motorists will soon pay less to use the AP-7 motorway, as toll prices revert to winter rates on October 1. The summer peak pricing period ended on September 30, leading to the implementation of standard 2026 tariffs at toll booths in Calahonda, San Pedro Alcantara, and Manilva. These tolls are charged in two ways: the "troncal" fee for the main motorway and the "lateral" fee for joining or leaving via slip roads. All prices include IVA (Spain's version of VAT).

The light category, which includes motorbikes, cars, certain two-axle vans, and two-axle minibuses, will see the following price changes: Calahonda main toll drops from €9.25 to €5.70, Calahonda slip road from €5.75 to €3.55, San Pedro main toll from €6.25 to €3.85, and San Pedro slip road from €3.60 to €2.20. Manilva's main toll decreases from €4.05 to €2.45, while the slip road price falls from €2.00 to €1.20.

The total cost for driving the full route between Malaga and Guadiaro will be €12 each way, compared to €19.55 during the summer.

Larger vehicles, such as "Pesado 1" (Heavy 1) lorries and vans towing trailers, will not see as significant a reduction. At Calahonda and San Pedro, the main toll remains unchanged at summer rates, while the slip road fee drops from €9.50 to €7.05. For "Pesado 2" (Heavy 2) lorries and coaches, the main toll at Calahonda falls from €15.25 to €11.35, and the slip road fee drops from €9.50 to €7.05.

At San Pedro, the main toll decreases from €10.35 to €7.70, and the slip road fee decreases from €5.95 to €4.45. At Manilva, the main toll falls from €6.95 to €4.80, and the slip road fee lowers from €3.40 to €2.35.
