Houston Texans legend J.J. Watt replaces Tony Romo on CBS' top NFL team
Watt's temporary promotion has become a season-long assignment after Romo's departure from CBS Sports.
CBS has announced that J.J. Watt, the Houston Texans legend, will replace Tony Romo as the network's top NFL color commentator. Romo, a former Dallas Cowboys star quarterback, was let go due to his arrest for driving under the influence in Wisconsin earlier this summer. CBS and Romo mutually agreed to part ways, with the network expressing gratitude for his contributions over the past nine years.
Watt, who auditioned for the position during the first few weeks of the NFL season, will now partner with Jim Nantz and Tracy Wolfson on the lead NFL announce team for the remainder of the season.
