Kubb is a company known for its fanless mini PCs, and recently, one of their customers ordered a system with a twist: the entire chassis crafted from pure 24-karat gold. This extravagant request resulted in a unique 13kg, 12 cubic centimetre computer, priced at a staggering US$1.7 million, compared to the standard mini PC starting price of €1,595.
The gold chassis offers superior heat dissipation, being 30% to 50% more efficient than aluminium. The mini PC comes with Intel Core Ultra 5, Core Ultra X7, or AMD Ryzen AI 5 340 processors, along with up to 128GB DDR5 RAM and 1TB storage. While this extravagant mini PC is a testament to vanity rather than practicality, potential owners might be concerned about its security in a world where thieves hijack trailers of sand.
