Soludo urges unity, resilience at Nigeria’s 66th independence anniversary

Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, addressed Nigerians during the 66th Independence Day celebration on Thursday, urging unity and resilience in the face of current challenges. Soludo praised the sacrifices, resilience, and spirit of the nation's founding fathers and other Nigerians who continue to sustain the country through trials and triumphs.

He emphasized the importance of remaining optimistic and acknowledged the difficult economic reforms initiated by the current administration, which were necessary to address deep-seated fiscal distortions. Soludo highlighted the successful arrest of economic decline, stability restoration, and growth exceeding four per cent in 2026, attributing these achievements to tough choices made over the past three and a half years.

He outlined key focus areas for the future, including lowering the cost of living, boosting agricultural output, and expanding critical infrastructure. Soludo assured citizens that his administration would prioritize the safety of every individual and stressed the importance of unity, optimism, and commitment to building a prosperous Nigeria.
