How to let Claude schedule your social media posts (MCP, step by step)

Disclosure: I'm Renzo, and I build PostWire, the MCP server used here. It has a free plan. The same steps work with any MCP server that exposes scheduling tools; the tool names will differ. Claude can't post to LinkedIn or Bluesky on its own. It has no access to your accounts. It can once you connect an MCP server (Anthropic calls these connectors ) that holds those connections and exposes tools…

In this step-by-step tutorial, you'll learn how to use Claude to schedule social media posts with the help of a free MCP (Multi-Cloud Platform) server called PostWire. The process applies to any MCP server that offers scheduling tools, with only minor variations in tool names. Note that Claude cannot post to LinkedIn or Bluesky on its own; it requires an MCP server to handle those connections.

To begin, you'll need to add the PostWire server to Claude. This can be done through the Claude connector directory, where you'll find the PostWire option. After connecting, you'll receive a 6-digit code to verify your connection. Alternatively, you can use an API key for authentication.

Next, connect the networks where you'll be posting. Claude provides a link to sign in on each network's platform. Currently, you can connect to LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook Pages, Bluesky, Mastodon, Telegram, and Discord. However, X, Threads, Reddit, and Pinterest are not supported.

Once your networks are connected, set your time zone. Claude uses this information to schedule posts with accurate timestamps.

To schedule a single post, write the content for a specific platform, such as LinkedIn and Bluesky, and specify the desired posting time in New York time. Claude will then generate drafts for each platform and allow you to approve them before scheduling.

You can also plan a week of posts ahead of time using the plan_week tool. This tool generates one post per day, each tailored to its respective network and topic. Scheduled posts are queued starting the next day, with a limit of 15 posts per day and 30 posts per month on the free plan. If your planned week exceeds your monthly quota, any excess posts will be saved as held for future scheduling once you upgrade.

To check your scheduled posts, use the list_scheduled_posts tool, which returns each post's details, including timestamp, networks, and status. If you need to cancel a scheduled post, use the cancel_scheduled_post tool with the post's ID.

Throughout this process, Claude provides detailed tool calls and their responses, allowing you to follow along and replicate the process in your own Claude agent. All actions were performed on October 1, 2026, using PostWire's hosted server with a test account.
