Tom Kim defies jet-lag, Kho cards ace as Asian Games golf begins

Nagoya: Tom Kim overcame jet-lag and only six hours of sleep over two days to post a three-under par 67 as Asian Games golf kicked off on Wednesday. Meanwhile, defending champion Taichi Kho carded an ace on the par-three seventh hole. South Korean Kim traveled from the Presidents Cup to compete in his Games debut, sharing seventh place with Japan's Keita Nakajima and Kho, who shot 68 and 69 respectively.

With three rounds remaining on the par-70 Kasugai Country Club course, the men's leaderboard was led by Taiwan's Wang Wei-hsuan and Japan's Kazuki Higa, both posting five-under-par 65s. Kim, ranked 32nd in the world, had six hours of sleep in the past 48 hours, expressing determination to stay focused. Kho, a Hangzhou Asian Games gold medalist, remarked on the soft greens and his challenging iron shot that resulted in an ace.

The team prize at stake involves the aggregate of individual scores, with host Japan currently leading the men's standings at nine-under par.
