Teen gets 90 hours' community service for raping 14-year-old

Batu Pahat: A 15-year-old accused of raping a 14-year-old girl in a stadium room has been given a punishment of 90 hours of community service. He is required to serve this over a span of six months. The magistrate also imposed a RM1,500 good behaviour bond, which comes with specific conditions. One condition is a curfew from 9pm to 6am.

The boy is also mandated to undergo counseling sessions with a school counsellor at least once every three months. Additionally, he is required to report to the Welfare Department twice a month. The teenager admitted guilt to the charge under Section 376(1) of the Penal Code. The incident occurred on July 5 when the girl met the boy for a jog near a lake.

After their jog, they went to a stadium to rest. The boy then allegedly took the girl by the hand and led her into an unlocked room, where the sexual offence took place. The deputy public prosecutor handled the prosecution, while the teenager's defense was represented by lawyer Normaahani Rais from the National Legal Aid Foundation.
