Selangor peruntuk RM100,000 bantu isteri, anak digantung nafkah

Selangor authorities are allocating RM100,000 for the implementation of Program Bantuan Nafkah Rahmah Selangor 2026, aiming to strengthen social protection and support women and children harmed by syariah court judgments. Saari, Exco Pembangunan Wanita dan Kebajikan Masyarakat Anfaal, stated that the temporary financial assistance would benefit up to 50 affected families during the legal enforcement process.

The financial aid, estimated at RM2,000 for a wife and RM1,000 for each child, will be distributed according to the figures set by the Family Support Division of the Special Account for Family Maintenance (BSK) in the Syariah Court Administration Department (Jakess).

The primary goal of this initiative is to alleviate the burden on women and children who have a valid syariah court maintenance order but fail to receive payments from the debtors. The government of Selangor emphasizes that the main narrative of Bantuan Nafkah Rahmah is to provide immediate relief to women and children who are suffering, rather than replacing the responsibility of the party responsible for providing maintenance.

Applicants must be Muslim and residents of Selangor, with a household income below RM5,000 per month, and have a valid syariah court maintenance order that is either unenforced or unpaid by the debtor.

To apply for the program, eligible individuals can submit their applications in person at Jakess through BSK, providing proof of eligibility and a completed application form. The government remains vigilant in ensuring the protection of women's and children's rights, and urges former spouses and parents to assume full responsibility for fulfilling the maintenance orders issued by the syariah court for the well-being of their children.
