Samsung reveals ultrathin Galaxy Tab S12 series and nearly a full day of battery life

Samsung has officially unveiled its new Galaxy Tab S12 series, with the Tab S12+ and Tab S12 Ultra models hitting the market starting October 7. The new tablets build upon previous generations, featuring a few improvements and some notable differences. While the design remains largely the same, there are some spec enhancements, including the introduction of the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset.

One of the most significant changes is the absence of a cellular version for the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra. Additionally, Samsung has opted to eliminate smaller screen size options for this year, making the 11-inch Galaxy Tab S11 the only alternative.

Both devices boast a larger vapor chamber for enhanced heat dissipation, maintain the IP68 dust/water resistance rating from prior models, and come pre-loaded with One UI 9 (Android 17) along with seven years of OS and security updates.

Included with each tablet is an S Pen, along with the option to purchase a keyboard cover and other accessories. Notably, Adobe Photoshop has been pre-installed on the Galaxy Tab S12 series, featuring S Pen optimization and granting users four months of free access to the app. Notability, a newer Android app, is also pre-loaded and comes with a six-month trial, alongside other popular productivity tools such as Goodnotes, LumaFusion, Notion, and a six-month Google AI Pro trial for enhanced Gemini features.

Pricing begins at $1,199 for the Galaxy Tab S12+, with the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra starting at $1,399, marking a $100 increase from the previous year. Both devices will be available in the US starting October 7.
