Ronaldo leaves Portugal camp amid reports of rift with coach Jesus

Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo has announced his departure from the national team's training camp following a disagreement with coach Jorge Jesus. Ronaldo made the announcement in a statement on Wednesday night, stating that he would reveal the reasons behind his decision in the future. He explained that his decision came after a meeting with the President of the Portuguese Football Federation and following a conversation with Jesus.

Ronaldo expressed his intent to provide "the truth about the reasons that led to my departure from the national team" to the Portuguese people. In the meantime, he wished the team and his teammates "good luck." Earlier, Jesus had denied any issues with Ronaldo, insisting that the player was still interested in continuing with the team despite being substituted for 90 minutes during the 2-1 victory over Norway in the Nations League.
