Richards 'devastated' by Man City guilty verdicts

Former Manchester City defender Micah Richards expressed profound devastation upon reading the Premier League's guilty verdict against the club regarding financial charges. The independent commission found that City had arranged sham contracts with commercial partners to disguise secret funding exceeding £830 million. The league confirmed all charges related to breaches of financial rules between the 2009-10 and 2017-18 seasons, with all but one violation in terms of failure to cooperate with the investigation.

Despite denying any wrongdoing, the club has until October 2 to appeal the decision. Richards, who spent his youth at Manchester City, found the reports troubling, stating he felt "absolutely devastated." He added, "I would die for that club, and my digs man was literally in tears, asking me about information he couldn't provide."
