Dhurandhar 2’s runtime reduced by 10 minutes for TV, CBFC cuts 45-50 ‘violent scenes’

Aditya Dhar's action thriller Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge, which shattered box office records, is set to debut on television on October 18. However, the film has been given a 'UA 16+' certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and its running time has been trimmed by ten minutes to 3 hours 39 minutes 6 seconds. The CBFC's decision to cut 45-50 scenes, mostly violent and gory, has been reported to have retained the film's essence and impact.

The original theatrical version received an 'A' certificate with a runtime of 3 hours 49 minutes 6 seconds. The film, starring Ranveer Singh, turned out to be a massive hit, generating a global box office collection of Rs 1,813 crore, with Rs 1,149 crore coming from Indian revenues. Despite initial criticisms over its violent scenes, Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge emerged as one of the highest-grossing Hindi films of all time, second only to Aamir Khan's Dangal.
