Remaja autistik didakwa bunuh ibu diarah jalani rawatan psikiatri

A 15-year-old autistic teenager has been ordered by the Kuala Kangsar High Court to undergo psychiatric treatment at Hospital Bahagia Ulu Kinta after being charged with the murder of his mother, Nor Ainon Omar, 49, on September 23rd. The court's decision, made by Judge Azlin Zeti Zainal Abidin under Section 342 of the Penal Code, followed the teenager's apparent inability to comprehend the charges presented to him in court.

The defendant's admission of guilt was not recorded, according to Berita Harian. No plea was entered on his behalf, and the prosecution was handled by Deputy Public Prosecutor Nur Mirza Zulaikha Mohd Fadzly, while the accused did not have legal representation. Nur Mirza did not offer any plea except to request a new court date within a month following the psychiatric report of the accused, who also has a psychiatric record.
