OPay names top 10 teams in N18m National Innovation Challenge

Opay, a leading fintech company in Nigeria, has named the top 10 teams in its National Innovation Challenge, backed by Google and the Federal Government’s 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) programme. The challenge aims to empower young Nigerians with skills, opportunities, and support to create solutions for real-world challenges.

Over 11,000 students and 2,200 teams applied, highlighting a strong interest in developing innovative solutions. After a rigorous selection process, 48 teams were shortlisted, followed by a six-week employability Webinar to strengthen their knowledge and workplace-relevant skills. The 10 outstanding teams, advancing to an intensive Boot Camp, will work with experienced mentors and industry professionals to further develop their solutions.
