Ocon to leave Haas at end of F1 season

Esteban Ocon will depart Haas at the close of the Formula One season, according to both the driver and his team, following a challenging campaign. The 30-year-old Frenchman transitioned from Alpine to Haas ahead of the 2025 season, partnering with British newcomer Oliver Bearman. Speculation over his departure has grown in recent months as Ocon expressed dissatisfaction with his car and noted that his teammate was favored.

Ocon intends to remain active in motorsport. He noted on X that his tenure with Haas will conclude at the end of the 2026 season. Despite difficulties, he expressed pride in his performances under less-than-ideal circumstances. His primary concern now is the upcoming race weekend. Ocon emphasized his ongoing dedication and performance enhancement efforts.

He remains motivated and hungry for success, stating that his Formula 1 career is far from over. Haas has not disclosed a replacement for Ocon. Currently, he ranks 16th in the drivers' standings with seven points, three places behind Bearman. Across 39 races with Haas, Ocon has earned 12 points, with his highest finish being fifth place at China last year.

He previously secured victory at the Hungarian GP with Alpine in 2021. Ocon's announcement precedes the rescheduled Bahrain GP, set to occur this weekend in Malaysia due to the ongoing Middle Eastern conflict.
