Nach Clan-Kontakt: Berliner Linke-Politiker Koçak verlässt Bundestagsausschuss

Ferat Koçak, a member of the left-wing party in the Berlin Parliament, has resigned from the Bundestag's Interior Committee due to criticism over his contacts within Berlin's clan environment. In a statement on social media, Koçak expressed concern that personal attacks on his character should not jeopardize his colleagues' important parliamentary work.

He explicitly denied any involvement in organized crime and admitted to making a mistake in his dealings with a family member connected to the clan. The controversy stemmed from Koçak exchanging friendly chat messages with Firas Remmo, a son of a prominent clan member. Koçak stated that his contact with the Remmo family was motivated by the need for smartphones for youth in an Antifa group that had requested assistance.

Koçak acknowledged that he was naive and overwhelmed by the situation and accepted responsibility for his actions. Despite the controversy, he has continued to serve in the Bundestag, having won his direct mandate in the Neukölln constituency in 2025.
