LESCO Teams Visit Homes to Recover Unpaid Electricity Bills

The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has faced criticism from consumers after teams began visiting homes to recover unpaid electricity bills and warn of potential disconnections. This has raised questions about whether the company has altered its policy on unpaid bills. A resident mentioned officials had received new instructions from senior officers regarding bill recovery and disconnections.

Previously, a connection would be disconnected after two unpaid monthly bills, but the recent visits have led to concerns among some consumers about immediate demands for bill recovery. In response to the complaints, a LESCO spokesperson acknowledged the possibility of errors in meter readings or billing information but denied suggestions that the company had deliberately inflated bills for all consumers.
