Kepimpinan baharu FAM mohon maaf isu pemalsuan dokumen

The newly elected leadership of FAM has issued an apology for the controversy surrounding the falsified documents involving seven players last year. President Ab Ghani Hassan made this apology today, representing the newly elected Executive Committee of FAM. As quoted by Berita Harian, Ab Ghani stated that he represents the entire FAM Executive Committee present today in apologizing to all Malaysian football supporters for the falsified documents issue involving the seven players that occurred last year.

Ab Ghani was elected as the new FAM president following the September 17th elections. The re-election of FAM leadership took place after all Executive Committee positions were vacated in January, following the issue with the seven players. Ab Ghani emphasized the need for FAM to improve every process involving the documentation and players, saying that the Harimau Malaya team needs to be represented accurately and in accordance with the rules.

He committed to preventing any recurrence of such issues during his tenure. Last September, FAM and seven players faced action from the International Football Federation (Fifa) over false documents submitted to authenticate the qualification of the players before the 2027 Malaysia Asia Cup. In March of this year, the Fair Play Tribunal rejected FAM's appeal against a 350,000 Swiss franc (approximately RM1.8 million) fine imposed by Fifa.
