Israeli settlers raid West Bank village, Ottoman-era historic site

Israeli settlers have been conducting raids on the village of Awarta, located south of Nablus, and the vicinity of al-Uzair shrine for over a dozen hours, as reported by Wafa news. Local sources have informed Wafa that a group of dozens of settlers entered the village under the protection of Israeli forces. They allegedly performed Jewish rituals at Islamic shrines within the village and attacked Palestinians who tried to approach the site.

In addition, Wafa also reported that Israeli settlers targeted the Ottoman-era tunnel known as "Al-Kharq" situated east of Bal, a town located east of Tulkarm, on Wednesday. Eyewitnesses claim that the settlers performed Jewish prayers inside the tunnel and raised Israeli flags. The tunnel, dating back to the late 19th century, has been included on Palestine's tourism map as one of the country's significant archaeological sites that require attention, rehabilitation, and restoration.
