iQOO Launches Pad Ultra In China; Features Custom Q4 Chip

iQOO has introduced the Pad Ultra in its home market of China, joining the lineup of gaming tablets from its subbrand, vivo. Although the name does not signify a direct successor to the previous Pad6 Pro model, the Pad Ultra shares many features with the iQOO phone. The tablet is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset, alongside iQOO's own custom Q4 chip, which enhances its gaming performance.

The display is an 8.8-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1,440 x 2,304, a refresh rate of up to 165 Hz, and a peak brightness of 4,500 nits. It also features a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front-facing camera, as well as a 9,020 mAh battery that supports 66W charging.

The cooling system in the Pad Ultra is quite robust, with a total heat dissipation area of 23,253 mm squared and includes dual air intakes and three fan speeds to keep the device running smoothly during intense gaming sessions. On the software side, it runs the new OriginOS 7 HD on top of Android 17, and also supports PC streaming and game emulation. Additionally, the tablet boasts a quad-speaker setup and dual X-axis motors for vibration feedback.

In terms of storage options, users in China can choose between 12GB + 256GB, 16GB + 256GB, 16GB + 512GB, and 16GB + 1TB configurations, with corresponding prices of CNY6,499 (~RM3,956), CNY7,199 (~RM4,383), CNY7,999 (~RM4,870), and CNY8,999 (~RM5,478) respectively. The tablet is available in two color options - Black and Silver, and it is expected to be launched on 5 October in the local market.

As with most of iQOO's products, global pricing and availability details have yet to be disclosed, and it remains uncertain if the Pad Ultra will be launched in other regions as well, given the absence of the predecessor model.
