Humanitarian catastrophe in occupied Oleshky: Ukraine calls for urgent discussion at OSCE

Ukraine's intelligence has disclosed information on 23 Russian companies involved in the production of Pantsir missiles, according to HUR's post on Facebook. The data has been shared on the War&Sanctions portal. Pantsir refers to a family of Russian self-propelled short-range anti-aircraft gun-and-missile systems designed to safeguard important areas and military facilities.

These systems are also used to enhance air defense at low altitudes and protect against mass attacks using air-launched weapons. Since 2023, Russia has been installing Pantsir systems on Moscow rooftops. This year, a modified version, the Pantsir-SMD-E, was observed there, utilizing smaller TKB-1055 Gvozd missiles rather than automatic cannons.

Previously, HUR had reported on over 50 companies involved in producing the 72V6 combat vehicle utilized in the Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft system. Now, information on an additional 23 companies involved in manufacturing 95Ya6 missiles has been revealed. The 95Ya6 is the primary medium-range missile used by various Pantsir modifications.

The Academician Shipunov Instrument Design Bureau, the main developer and manufacturer of 95Ya6 missiles, plays a crucial role in their development. Several of the disclosed companies are not subject to sanctions from any country in the sanctions coalition. Among the companies mentioned are Komponent plant, responsible for proximity target sensors for 95Ya6 missiles; Sergo Ordzhonikidze Saratov Electrotechnical Plant, which manufactures and supplies emission and power-supply units for these missiles; and Tambov Elektropribor, a producer of steering units for 95Ya6 missiles.

HUR stresses the importance of targeting companies involved in producing the entire range of Russian weapons, not just offensive systems, to effectively weaken Russia's military capabilities. Air defense capabilities, including Pantsir systems, provide protection to Russian enterprises manufacturing cruise and ballistic missiles and Russian military formations during offensive and defensive operations in Ukraine and other critical facilities in Russia.
