Huawei To Launch Mate 90 Series In China On 1 October; Alleged Specs, Renders Leaked

Huawei is set to introduce its new Mate 90 series of smartphones in China on October 1st. The launch event will occur at 10AM China time, coinciding with the same time in Malaysia, while sales are anticipated to commence at 12:08PM on the same day. The company has also released an image showcasing the design of the Mate 90 series, featuring a unique rear panel with the same camera module shape.

However, Huawei has yet to disclose the specifications for the Mate 90 series. Several details have, nevertheless, surfaced online, including from reputable tipster Digital Chat Station. According to these leaks, the lineup is expected to include the base Mate 90, Mate 90 Pro, Mate 90 Pro Max, and Mate 90 RS, similar to last year's Mate 80 series.

The internal specifications remain uncertain, with only the Kirin 9030 chipset for the base Mate 90 and the Kirin 9035 SoC for the Pro variant reported. The Pro Max and RS models are purportedly powered by the Kirin 9050 Pro. The screen specifications for the Pro Max and RS models are also unclear, but it is believed that they will share a dual-layer OLED display, with the RS variant measuring 6.9 inches compared to the 6.75 inches of the Pro.

The camera details are still speculative, with reports suggesting that the Pro Max will have an 18EV dynamic range primary rear camera and a 200MP periscope telephoto lens, while the base and Pro models' specifications have not been confirmed. The Collector's Edition is rumored to support a 1-inch 10x zoom lens, featuring videos of which have surfaced online.

The available color options include green, pink, black, white for the Pro model and red-gold, white-grey, black-grey for the RS variant. Huawei has not announced the pricing for the series at this time.
