Honda Discontinues BR-V as Chinese Competition Grows in Pakistan

Honda Atlas Cars Ltd. has ended production of the BR-V model in Pakistan and removed the vehicle from its official website, according to a senior executive at the company. The decision comes as the BR-V has reached the end of its lifecycle. The executive did not provide any further details on whether a replacement model is planned for the near future.

Low production levels, averaging around 25 to 50 units per month, have contributed to the discontinuation. A Honda dealer reported that the BR-V had already vanished from showrooms, with few potential buyers showing interest in purchasing the vehicle. The Honda vendors confirmed that the company had ceased production of the BR-V.

According to PAMA data, combined production of the BR-V and HR-V declined to 120 units in July and August of 2025, down from 1,460 units during the same period in 2025. Sales also plummeted to 191 units from 731 units during the same timeframe. Honda started assembling the BR-V in Pakistan in April 2017, manufacturing 648 units and selling 527 units that month.

The decline in BR-V and HR-V production and sales is attributed to the entry of Chinese and Korean models, including hybrid, range-extended electric, and battery-electric vehicles, which have attracted more consumer interest in the market.
