Haaland, Gyokeres, Wissa, 11 other EPL players who scored on international duty

Fourteen Premier League players scored goals for their respective countries during the September international break. Manchester City's Erling Haaland led the way with three goals, scoring twice in Norway's 3-2 Nations League victory over Denmark and adding another in their 2-1 defeat by Portugal. Haaland now has 65 goals in 57 international appearances, with 22 of them coming in the Nations League since its introduction in 2018.

Arsenal's Viktor Gyökeres and Newcastle United's Yoane Wissa each scored twice for Sweden during the break. Liverpool's Alexander Isak scored for Sweden in their 2-1 Nations League win over Romania, and Liverpool's Cody Gakpo scored a stoppage-time equaliser against Germany for the Netherlands. Other notable Premier League players to score during the international break include Brighton's Malick Yalcouyé, who won a penalty and scored on his Ivory Coast debut, Brentford's Michael Kayode, who scored on his Italy debut, Liverpool's Jeremy Jacquet and Bradley Barcola, who both kept clean sheets on their France debut, Manchester United's Patrick Dorgu, and Fulham's Oscar Bobb, Nicolas Jackson, and Rayan, who each scored once.

The Premier League also noted injuries to Isak, Gakpo, Havertz, and Dorgu during international duty. The 16-day international break concluded on October 6, with Premier League action resuming on October 10.
