GTA 6 updates: Everything new we learned this week

Less than two months away, Grand Theft Auto VI is on the horizon. Game Informer has unveiled fresh details about the eagerly anticipated sequel. With its narrative and setting finally revealed, Game Informer shares everything we learned, along with a recap of what was already known.

Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, the Bonnie and Clyde duo, return. Players can choose to nurture or break their relationship. A slow-motion aiming mode, an honor indicator shaped like a demon head, and Red Dead Redemption 2-style NPC interactions are among the gameplay elements confirmed.

Leonida, Rockstar's biggest map to date, is the largest world ever built by the studio. Spanning roughly twice the size of GTA 5's map, it boasts six main regions: Vice City, Leonida Keyes, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia, and Mount Kalaga National Park. The team studied North Florida cities for inspiration, promising ATV trails, mud parks, nighttime derbies, farms, and bass fishing.

Jason and Lucia's romance is now player-driven. Their bond grows through missions and small acts like hand-holding and social interactions, though there's no gameplay advantage to any path. Rockstar encourages multiple playthroughs due to the impact of player decisions on the story. The weather system has been revamped to be localized and persistent, with real weather impacts like rain puddles, rainbows, and wind.

Over 170 animal species, including Florida natives and invasive species, inhabit Leonida, with some animals categorized into Rare, Discoverable, and Legendary. NPCs have also been upgraded with varied appearances and regional fashion.
