Don’t let political crisis cripple state administration, says Negeri Sembilan PKR

On September 30, the leadership council of Negeri Sembilan's Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) urged for an immediate resolution to the state's administrative deadlock. PKR President Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun emphasized that the impasse encompassed not only constitutional and royal institutions but also issues related to the continuity of state administration, economic stability, and public welfare.

The exco chairman highlighted that the uncertainty surrounding the State Executive Council's members could delay critical matters requiring state authorities' consideration and approval. This could negatively impact investment, development, land approvals, transfers, project implementation, investor confidence, landowners' and businesses' concerns, employment, and household incomes.

The PKR leader also noted that the status of Village Development and Security Committees (JPKK) and councillors remained unresolved, potentially weakening representation and effective coordination between the government and the people at grassroots levels. Aminuddin called for political restraint, urging all leaders to refrain from escalating the situation and allowing constitutional and legal processes to resolve the crisis.

On September 24, Menteri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim met with the Yang Di Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawi, for nearly three hours at Istana Hinggap. The meeting is believed to have addressed the ongoing administration issues. Tuanku Muhriz had previously revoked the appointments of 10 State Executive Council members on September 20, with the revocation gazetted on September 24.
