BTS' RM donates 100 mln won to National Museum of Korea

BTS vocalist RM has made a donation of 100 million won, equivalent to $70,000, to bolster acquisitions at the National Museum of Korea. This marks the artist's ongoing support for Korean art and culture. The museum announced Wednesday that RM made the contribution on Tuesday through the museum's foundation. The funds will be utilized to acquire objects for the museum's collection.

In June, RM was appointed as the museum's global ambassador. In this capacity, the BTS leader expressed his pleasure at supporting the museum in this role, stating he would continue to collaborate with the institution to promote it and Korean culture. The museum anticipates that RM's ongoing support for the arts and culture will increase public interest in Korea's cultural heritage and museums, leading to stronger exhibitions and programs.

A known avid art lover and collector, RM has previously supported cultural institutions and amassed a collection predominantly featuring Korean modern and contemporary art. This collection will be featured prominently in a San Francisco exhibition, set to open soon.
