Cleveland Browns edge rusher Jared Verse expressed his perspective on the challenges of facing NFL veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who at 42 is the oldest quarterback in the league. Despite Rodgers' advanced age, Verse acknowledged that he remains a "wizard" on the field, executing throws and handling the football with remarkable skill.

Verse emphasized that Rodgers' ability to quickly release the ball—sometimes in as little as one, two, or one and a half seconds—sets him apart as a player and requires defenders to maintain their aggressive tackling approach regardless of the quarterback's physical decline. In the current 2026 season, Rodgers is experiencing one of his weakest performances, with an average of 233.3 passing yards per game and a completion rate of just 58.4%.

However, the Cleveland Browns have already recorded seven sacks this season and are limiting opponents to an average of 224 passing yards per game. This strong defensive performance provides a clear advantage for the Browns in their upcoming Week 4 match against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
