Bombay HC Judges Recuse From NIA Plea Challenging Sachin Waze’s Bail In Antilia Bomb Scare & Mansukh Hiran Murder Case

In the ongoing case involving Mumbai residence of the Ambanis, two Bombay High Court benches have declined to hear the National Investigation Agency's (NIA) appeal against the bail granted to dismissed police officer Sachin Waze. On Wednesday, another high court bench withdrew from hearing the appeal, citing that Waze was not released from jail on that day.

The matter is now directed not to be listed before the bench where Justice Bharati H Dangre had already recused herself. Additionally, Justice Ashish S Chavan, a member of the bench, expressed difficulty as he had appeared for the CBI in a related matter. Earlier, Justice Sarang V Kotwal had also recused from hearing the appeal.

Today, the central agency sought assistance from Chief Justice Mahesh Chandra Tripathi's bench, with Additional Solicitor General Anil Singh arguing that other division benches might be unable to handle the matter and that Waze's release in the meantime would impede proceedings. The case was subsequently assigned to a bench led by Justice Girish S Kulkarni.
