Bears news: Chicago takes much-needed defensive anchor in latest ClutchPoints 2027 NFL Mock Draft

The Chicago Bears are looking to bolster their defensive line in the 2027 NFL Draft. According to ClutchPoints' latest mock draft, the team could select Oregon defensive lineman A’Mauri Washington at No. 19 overall. Washington, who stands at 6-foot-3 and weighs 325 pounds, is considered one of the best run-stuffers in the draft class.

The Bears' defense has struggled thus far, with three losses in their first three games. Adding Washington would provide the team with a much-needed anchor in the interior defensive line, helping to improve their run defense. This would be a significant change from the previous mock draft, which had Chicago selecting Missouri offensive lineman Cayden Green.

With quarterback Caleb Williams out for the next few weeks due to a hamstring injury, Chicago will need to rely on its depth and Washington could be the key to maintaining their early-season momentum.
