Be wary of PAS’s delay tactics, Bersatu tells RoS

Bersatu leader Tun Faisal Ismail Aziz has warned the Registrar of Societies (RoS) to exercise caution regarding PAS's strategy of employing delay tactics in its probe into complaints filed by Muhyiddin Yassin's party, which resulted in Perikatan Nasional's suspension. Faisal expressed confusion over PN secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan's assertion that PN was unaware of the complaint lodged by Bersatu.

He pointed out that Takiyuddin himself had admitted to being summoned by the RoS and questioned for four hours concerning the Bersatu complaint. This came after a news report in August revealing that Takiyuddin had informed the RoS that Bersatu was excluded from talks on PN's plans for the Negeri Sembilan state election due to Bersatu's criticism of PAS.

Despite being part of PN, PAS has disassociated itself from the party. Faisal also mentioned that the registrar had acknowledged receiving Bersatu's complaint on August 11, pertaining to Bersatu's status within the opposition coalition and its absence from a PN Supreme Council meeting. This response was in reference to Takiyuddin's claim that PN had written to the RoS seeking clarification on Bersatu's complaint.

Takiyuddin further stated that PN is awaiting an official response from the RoS, as they were unaware of the nature of the complaint. Faisal implored the registrar to disregard PN's request for a clarification, emphasizing that the RoS must be mindful of PAS's recurring use of delay tactics since assuming leadership of PN. The RoS had previously announced the suspension of PN on September 23, citing the need to protect the coalition's interests and deter further rule violations.
