Be wary of PAS’s delay tactics, Bersatu tells RoS

Bersatu's information chief, Tun Faisal Ismail Aziz, has warned the Registrar of Societies (RoS) to beware of the Parti Islam SeMalaysia (PAS)'s delay tactics in its investigation into complaints filed by Muhyiddin Yassin's Perikatan Nasional (PN) party. According to Tun Faisal, PAS has a history of employing such tactics since taking over as the chair of PN.

Tun Faisal expressed confusion over PN secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan's assertion that his party was unaware of the complaint. He pointed out that Takiyuddin had himself admitted to being summoned by the RoS and questioned for four hours regarding the Bersatu's complaint. This incident is based on a news report published in August where Takiyuddin claimed that PN had excluded Bersatu from discussions on PN's preparations for the Negeri Sembilan state election due to its criticism of PAS.

Bersatu is a component of PN, but PAS has severed ties with the party. Tun Faisal also mentioned that the registrar had acknowledged receiving Bersatu's complaint on August 11, concerning its status within the opposition coalition and its absence from a PN Supreme Council meeting. In response to Takiyuddin's claim that PN had written to the RoS for clarification on Bersatu's complaint, Tun Faisal urged the registrar not to entertain PN's request for an explanation.

He argued that the RoS should be cautious and not give in to such delay tactics as Bersatu has witnessed PAS repeatedly resorting to this strategy since assuming control of PN.

The RoS had previously suspended PN, effective September 23, with the aim of protecting the coalition's interests and preventing further rule violations.
