BAeK PTPTN buka laluan anak keluarga memerlukan ke menara gading

Badan Akreditasi Pendidikan Tinggi (BAeK PTPTN) aims to break the cycle of poverty within families by providing scholarships for children from low-income and middle-income households to continue their higher education at institutions of higher learning. PTPTN Secretary Norliza Abdul Rahim stated that socio-economic background should not hinder a child from pursuing further education.

The scheme will alleviate worries for families who previously had to borrow money or sell properties to fund their children's education. With BAeK PTPTN, students no longer need to worry about repaying loans after graduation, allowing them to focus solely on their studies. Once employed, they can continue to support their families and improve their standard of living.

The initiative encourages parents to cultivate a habit of saving for their children's education from a young age, even saving as little as RM20 or RM30 per month, which can help provide funding for their children's higher education through the Simpan SSPN scheme. BAeK PTPTN is a targeted government initiative to provide scholarships to students from poor and middle-income families who are accepted into diploma or undergraduate programs at public higher education institutions that issue PTPTN loans starting from January 1, 2026.

Applicants are selected from families registered in the eKasih database, subject to meeting specified criteria.
